Shiner First United Methodist Church

Ministry Team

You have gifts that God can use to transform the world!

Did you notice we put that in bold? It's important you know you can make a difference in the world.

Part of following Christ is putting our gifts into practice. Our church leaders come out of various work backgrounds. Some are better at organizing while other thrive in hands-on ministry. Together, they help lead our church. You can take an online survey to discover some of how your gifts can bring life to the church.

Some people are gifted in recognizing the needs of others and seem to know exactly what to pray for. We need people who will help lead our church to pray more faithfully.

Our Trustees ensure our facilities are well kept so that we can provide life-giving opportunities for ministry and service. Sometimes, trustees get their hands dirty. For the most part, they can an eye on what we need to do to keep our church safe and accessible for everyone.

Numbers don't mean anything to some people. Fortunately, there are those among us who know how to budget and plan finances. We want to make sure our church is faithful in its giving and seeks to use its resources to do the most good. You can help us!

Some people are good at looking down the road and developing a plan--seeing the big picture. We need people to find out what God wants us to do in the future. What projects should we begin to think about? What ministry shifts should we be prepared for?

Our Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) is responsible for caring for the staff members and volunteers of our church. This group makes sure that ministry is evaluated faithfully and honestly. We need people who know how to handle personnel issues and make sure we have the right people in ministry.

Some people are good at identifying the skills of others. We want to match people to the ministry that will be most fulfilling and beneficial to the church. Our Lay Leadership team is an important element to the ministry of our church.
